Run a social pickleball session
A courtside walkthrough from the first roster to the last result, using a labeled 12-player example.
An original guide to this tool’s behavior, not official competition rules.
1. Set up the session
Choose Start a session. In Step 1, give the activity a name, select 1–4 courts and plan 1–12 rounds. In Step 2, paste one name per line or add players individually. Give people with the same name distinct nicknames. The limit is 24 identities across the whole session, including people who leave. Review the playing and sitting-out counts before generating your first preview.
2. Review, then lock the round
Example, not a real event: 12 active players and 2 courts puts 8 people on court and 4 sitting out in each round. Generate preview shows the exact teams. Reshuffle changes the seed and proposes another draft without recording any games. Swap two players lets you review a manual change before applying it. Start round locks the displayed matchups. This is a synchronized round-based planner, not a queue that refills each court as it opens.
3. Record each court
After a match, optionally enter both scores and choose Mark Finished. Leave both blank for an unscored match; enter 0–0 only for an explicit draw. Finished matches count toward appearances and partner history even without scores. Save score can correct a finished result later. A cancelled match counts toward neither games played nor wins. Finish round becomes available once every used court is Finished or Cancelled.
4. Handle changes between rounds
In Players, add a late arrival, pause someone or mark them Left. Running matchups stay locked; the change affects the next round. If a match cannot continue, cancel it explicitly. Changes to a draft invalidate it, so generate a fresh preview. Court counts can change only between rounds. With fewer than 4 active players, add or resume people before continuing, or end the session and keep the existing results.
5. Close, back up and reuse
End session lists unfinished courts for confirmation and cancels those matches while preserving finished results. Rounds shows the summary and player statistics. Export JSON saves just the selected activity; the backup contains names and scores. Restore a backup in Sessions, review its summary and confirm an independent copy. Reuse roster creates a separate draft with no match history. Print uses your browser’s print dialog, which may offer Save as PDF. There is no cloud sync or live share link.
